La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines presents
Intersections is a project that brings together four artists in four different cities via video teleconference in telepresence. These four protagonists have lived through major social movements in each of their respective cities, from the inside, an important citizen movement in their city: the Persian Spring (Tehran, 2009), the Tunisian Revolution (Tunis, 2011), the Indignados (Barcelona, 2011) and the “Maple Spring” (Montréal 2012). The performance is a window onto the our world, live to question our era, time and our desire for revolution.
Have you ever had a feeling of revolution ?
Inspired by the performers’ personal experiences of the performers, they bring their stories back to us to recount their stories to us as a means of questioning the past, present and future. The piece is a poetic exploration of their dreams, their hopes and disappointments, as well as their prospects for the future in connection within terms of their desires for revolution … while offering spectators hundreds of kilometres away a theatrical event. What can a shared theatrical event mean for different audiences separated by thousands of kilometers on four continents?
April 3-6 and 8-13, 2019 at 8:00PM
