A public reading presented by Talisman Theatre and Playwrights’ Workshop Montréal
*Gametes* by Rébecca Déraspe, depicts two friends who have been
inseparable since their early childhood. Both are career women driven by a burning desire to be successful, and feel fulfilled. When one learns that she will give birth to a child with Down’s syndrome, she fails to foresee the confrontation it precipitates with her friend. This is another exploration of a complicated, contemporary feminism and a raw depiction of modern womanhood.
