Crying in Public
September 10, 2018 - September 15, 2018
Your ticket is a map and a schedule for all days.
Crying in Public is a performance series made up of 9 distinct dances presented September 10th to 15th. The works take place at various sites, both indoors and outdoors, including a church basement, a park and an empty lot and occur at different moments of each day.
The multiplicity of dances is like facets of a diamond, each one capturing a part of the intended meaning. Although they do stand alone, the more the public chooses to see, the more the fullness of the object is revealed.
How does it work?
The single purchasing price of 25$ (+ taxes) allows “entrance” to all 9 performances. The audience is invited to create their own way of engaging with the work. You may decide to come only to the morning dances or to see an entire day of performances. You may come once or many times. It’s up to you how you wish to integrate this into your week. When you pay your ticket you receive your map and a complete schedule of the 9 events!
Crying in Public is presented in 3 neighborhoods: Outremont, Petit Patrie, and Parc-Extension.
There are 3 dances each day at different hours- daytime, dusk and night- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Then, this 9-dance cycle is repeated on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There are therefore two opportunities to see each dance.

I can only see one option of day to buy. How can I buy for another day?
Your ticket is a map and a schedule to all days. No matter which day you purchase your ticket, you will have access to all 9 dances.
Where can I see the dates, times and places of each piece?
When you buy your ticket, you will receive a map and a schedule with the dates, times and places for each one of the 9 dances. If you want to have an idea of when these performances are happening, they are daytime (between 8h and 9h am and between 16h and 17h), dusk (between 18h30 and 20h pm) and night (between 21h and 22h). All of the pieces are performed either in Outremont, Parc-Extension, or Petite Patrie.
What can I bring to the event?
Some of the pieces are indoors and others outdoors (in parks and empty lots). There will be chairs or cushions at all sites for seating. Depending on the weather, you may wish to dress warmly if the performance is outdoors.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
If you have any question about the event, you can write to the producer Letícia Tórgo at firstname.lastname@example.org
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You do not need to bring a printed ticket. We trust that if you show up it is because you have purchased the map and schedule.
What happens in case of rain?
Even if most of our events are outdoors, we will do our best to keep our schedule. Remember that your ticket is valid for 18 presentations between the 10th and 15th September. If a show needs to be canceled due to rain, we will let you know. All the indoor pieces will, of course, happen regardless of weather.
