FTA – Festival TransAmériques

On the occasion of the 13th edition of Festival TransAmériques, a refreshing gust of wind will ruffle complacent feathers, calling into question a world that no longer functions. A call for change, indeed revolution—both intimate and spectacular—this whirlwind of 23 contemporary dance and theatre pieces from here and elsewhere will take Montreal by storm from May 22nd to June 4th. With 9 world premières and 11 North American premières on offer at 13 different venues, FTA audiences will discern the force and sincerity of presentations made by artists from a dozen countries.

Montreal Fringe Festival

The 29th edition of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival takes over the city this summer with over 700 performances by more than 500 artists in 22 intimate venues! Celebrate Quebec, Canadian and international artists converging in the Plateau Mont-Royal for a multidisciplinary festival of theatre, music, dance, comedy, visual arts and more.

Les voisines, created by Arianna Bardesono, is an urban audio walk through Outremont and the Mile End that explores the distance a woman feels between herself and Hasidic women living in the city she calls home. Born out of a deep curiosity to understand, Les voisines aims at connection by exploring humans’ relationship to space, difference, culture and each other.

Presented by Imago Theatre from May 24th to June 1st.

In what has now become a time-honoured tradition, the National Circus School graduates invite you to witness the fruits of their labour right before they embark on their professional careers. Directed by a multidisciplinary team of seasoned designers, these young artists will delight audiences with their spectacular feats. The event—which is the culmination of three years of an intense training program that has gained international recognition—will showcase the full range of their talents, as they perform dynamic and creative acts with brio, reinventing circus codes and amping up the risk factor as they go.
