Job Posting: McGill University Course Lecturer – Stage Scenery and Lighting

The McGill University Department of English invites applications for a Course Lecturer to teach a course during Fall 2021 and Winter 2022.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE

ENGL 368 Stage Scenery and Lighting 1 (3 credits – CRN 3473)

  • Term: Fall 2021
  • Salary: $9,625.00
  • Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs): Graduate of a program specializing in theatre production; working experience in technical production, design, and management of theatre and/or live events; minimum five years teaching in a secondary education system.
  • Schedule: September 1, 2021 to December 6, 2021 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:05 am to 11:25 am.

ENGL 372 Stage Scenery and Lighting 2 (3 credits – CRN 2795)

  • Term: Winter 2022
  • Salary: $9,625.00
  • Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs): Graduate of a program specializing in theatre production; working experience in technical production, design, and management of theatre and/or live events; minimum five years teaching in a secondary education system.
  • Schedule: January 5, 2022 to April 12, 2022 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:05 am to 11:25 am.

Please note that given the planned resumption of in-person teaching activities, most courses will be taught in person. Exams may however need to be administered remotely depending, mainly on the size of the class. Course Lecturers will be required to plan accordingly. Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in person teaching, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Course Lecturers will be advised without delay. Course Lecturers may be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) . Course Lecturers are encouraged to record their lectures.
