GENERAL MANAGER: DEVELOPMENT AND PHILANTHROPY

Starting Date: June 7th 2021
Number of Hours Per Week: 22.5

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to Artistic Director and Administrative Officer.
  • Assist Artistic Director in grant writing process and budgeting.
  • Assist Administrative Officer in administrative tasks related to development and philanthropy.
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit donors and sponsorship for the theatre.
  • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with Board of Directors and the Board’s Fundraising Committee.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure the consistent image of the theatre’s fundraising initiatives is communicated effectively.
  • Broaden the base of corporate sponsorship for the theatre by continuing to develop new kinds of sponsorship opportunities and maintaining cultivation of sponsors.
  • Evaluate changing trends in philanthropy and develop new programs responsive to the fundraising needs of the theatre.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with donors and supporters.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial management, budgeting and financial reports.
  • Experience in grant-writing, fundraising and sponsorship, particularly in an arts setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both English and French.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Experience with CRM systems is an asset.
  • Dependable, punctual, team player with outstanding interpersonal skills, enthusiastic and self-motivated.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Starting Date: June 7th 2021
Number of Hours Per Week: 22.5

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reports to Director of Projects and Outreach.
  • Write, produce and distribute materials using the theatre’s communications networks.
  • Prepare and execute all promotional requirements of the company’s programs, activities and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute social media campaigns and strategies using all platforms.
  • Manage, maintain, and update company website.
  • Prepare post-event analytics and reports.
  • Work within the pre-allocated budget.
  • Help write and disseminate the Company’s newsletters, press release(s) and communiques.
  • Design or coordinate making of the promotional materials such as posters, graphics, and the company website.
  • Answer external inquiries and emails related to communication.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English; French an asset.
  • Dependable, punctual, team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Knowledge of theatre environment and an awareness of cultural policies is an asset.
  • Familiar with design software (InDesign, Photoshop), Gsuite, MailChimp, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, website (Squarespace) and database management.
  • Experience in graphic design and web design.

OUTREACH PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Starting Date: June 7th 2021
Number of Hours Per Week: 22.5

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to Director of Projects and Outreach.
  • In collaboration with Artistic Director, take ideas and turn them into accomplishments through concepts, activities, projects, budgets, and organizing.
  • Be an advocate for the organization and its community purpose.
  • Identify new, and manage existing partnerships and outreach activities with communities, artists, organizations, and other interested parties.
  • Track community and audience attendance and find ways to expand it.
  • Coordinate community information sessions.
  • Promote events and activities to community groups, schools etc.
  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate records and reports on the outreach activities.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French an asset.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline, or experience, or combination of education and experience.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven, with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player.
  • Experience in dealing with local communities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Experience with websites (content management systems) and social media.
  • Experience with graphic design and web design.
