The Live Action Theatre Project, in collaboration with Teesri Duniya Theatre, invites Equity and Non-Equity actors to submit applications to audition for a new interactive theatre experience exploring dating in the post #MeToo era. Written by Julia Ainsworth and Rosaruby Kagan.
Actors must be available for the dates below, have strong improvisational skills and be comfortable with digital technology.
WORKSHOP DATES: Monday July 26th – July 30th, 2021
PROJECTED PRODUCTION DATES: Montreal, Spring 2022
- GEMMA**: (late 20’s) Successful emerging photographer, social media influencer and academic. Roslyn’s loyal mentee. Charismatic, bold, driven and politically active.
- ROSLYN: (50’s) Senior tenured professor. Reserved, traditional academic and advocate for women in media. Gemma’s mentor, friend, and co-worker. Struggling to keep up with emerging arts research trends.
- MARCO**: (late 30’s/early 40’s) Internationally acclaimed filmmaker and studio instructor. Native spanish speaking. Roslyn’s close friend and co-worker. New to academia. Charming and unassuming.
**PLEASE NOTE: The roles of Marco and Gemma involve partial nudity, sexually explicit scenes, filming, photography and themes of sexual misconduct. However, not for the purposes of the audition.
Actors are required to present a 2 to 3 minute contemporary monologue. Sides will be given prior to the audition and will involve some improvisation.

*Socially distanced in person auditions are preferred, however the option to audition by Zoom is available to all applicants. BIPOC actors are strongly encouraged to apply.
