Applications for the 2021 session of Imago Theatre’s ARTISTA are open!
This free theatre mentorship program empowers a community of young women* 16 to 21 years old to tell their own stories and share these stories with the world. Theatrical experimentation and mentorship from professional artist mentors build independence and confidence in artistic craftsmanship and offer insight into the diverse facets of Montreal and the Canadian theatre industry.
ARTISTA is the recipient of the 2019-2020 Montreal English Theatre Award for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, which recognizes and encourages practices of access and inclusion, and to celebrate those who embrace the range of cultures, identities and abilities that make up and enrich our city.
*Imago Theatre promotes an inclusive definition of women which includes all people who experience the world as women; trans women, cis-women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of women.
