Festival TransAmériques unveils the first piece in its 2020 lineup

Montreal's premier avant-garde performing arts festival announces details of upcoming edition

We admire him for the quirky, marginal worlds he presents, his commingling of the trivial and the sublime. What if the end of life was something to be celebrated?

Acclaimed Belgian choreographer Alain Platel returns to Montreal’s Festival TransAmériques (FTA) with Requiem pour L.from May 26 to 28, 2020 – a moving piece which resurrects the power of Mozart’s uncompleted and mythical opus Requiem, in a dynamic duo with composer Fabrizio Cassol.

After Gardenia and tauberbach, for which Platel was awarded the Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal in 2015, Requiem pour L. forces us to look death in the eye, with fourteen impassioned musicians and singers.

Tickets available on Saturday, November 23, 10 a.m.
The 14th edition of the Festival TransAmériques will take place from May 20th to June 3rd, 2020.
