Montreal – September 26, 2019. The reprisal of acclaimed Montreal playwright Vittorio Rossi’s The Chain opened to rave reviews (read ours here) on September 13th and has been extended for an extra week through to Saturday, October 12th.
“It resonates with audiences as much today as it did thirty years ago, when it premiered,” explains producer Susan Fuda. “Everyone leaves the theatre saying they laughed and cried and loved it.”
A quintessential Montreal story, The Chain highlights the dramas faced by a first-generation Italian immigrant family living in Ville-Émard.
“It’s a passionate play about an Italian Montreal family and the clash between Old World and New World values,” explains writer and director Vittorio Rossi. “The themes are universal, reflecting the immigrant experience that so many of us in this city have lived.”
