Centaur Theatre presents April scene study “Physicalizing Text: The Theatrical Body” April 28th

Centaur's Eda Holmes and Jon Lachlan Stewart lead collective exploration of Sam Shepard's "Beggar"

Centaur Theatre Company presents the latest session of its scene study series, Physicalizing Text: The Theatrical Body with Eda Holmes and Jon Lachlan Stewart.

Sunday April 28th 6:30-10pm at the Centaur Rehearsal Hall.

The April session of the Centaur Scene Study will explore various techniques drawn from dance and theatre practice to activate the actors physical imagination in relation to a piece of text. The goal is to discover more adventurous yet authentic approaches to more traditional theatrical texts. There will be no established method employed, but rather it will be a collective investigation into the potential of an actors body to be radically expressive. We will look at the poem “Beggar” by Sam Shepard.

If you would like to participate, please submit your headshot and resume in one pdf file labeled “LastName_AprilCSS.” to centaurscenestudy@gmail.com along with a short sentence explaining your interest in this study. There is no cost to participate.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT: Friday April 19 @ 5pm.
We will inform successful participants by Monday April 22nd.

The Centaur Scene Study is open for Montreal artists of any discipline to audit – no reservation necessary.
