MONTREAL, September 14th, 2018. For the first time ever, all of the students of the National Theatre School – from the Production Design & Technical Arts, Playwriting, Directing, Set & Costume Design, and Acting programs, as well as the resident artists – will take part in a one-time-only creation challenge. In teams, they will have only 24 hours to create 12 short scenes, each inspired by the Monument-National’s rich history. The Monument-National, one of Montreal’s historical and architectural jewels, turns 125 this year.
On the afternoon of September 30th, 2018, come witness the end result of this enthralling creation marathon at “Monumental Occupation”, consisting of two unique theatrical experiences that will take the public through the Monument-National’s public and secret spaces. This bold artistic project underlines the importance of art in the city and invites Montrealers to rediscover the amazing stories that inhabit one of Montreal’s most admirable buildings.
