Ladyfest Montréal presents 4th Annual Festival September 3-9

Dynamic femme and non-binary talent featured in stand-up, storytelling, video, improv, and sketch comedy events

LADYFEST MONTRÉAL ANNOUNCES ITS 4th ANNUAL AND MOST FABULOUS FESTIVAL EVER!

MONTREAL, September 3rd, 2018. Ladyfest Montreal is a celebration of dynamic femme and non-binary talent in stand-up, storytelling, video, improv, and sketch comedy! We’re excited to kick off our 4th annual festival which will take place September 3-9, 2018 at various venues across Montreal and features a slew of top-notch local and Canadian comedians and performers.

It is clear that a much-needed tidal wave of change is cresting. Comedy has a rich history of speaking truth to power, of “punching up”, of providing platforms for subversive opinions to have a shared cathartic release through the joy of collective laughter. It makes challenging ideas accessible to a wide array of audiences by finding the fun, the profound, the exaggerated bizarre in complex personal and political experiences.

For those who may think that “PC culture” is watering down comedy, we invite you come bathe in Ladyfest’s ocean of laughter. By highlighting the fabulous variety of comedic voices that are speaking up, our goal is to showcase the power of self-representation, the expansive depth of people having a platform to tell their own stories, and the unstoppable force of love and respect that can grow comedic talent and audiences.

Ladyfest strives to organize comedy events that are respectful and enjoyable experiences for all to laugh, connect and grow. We have zero tolerance for: racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, ageism, fatphobia, xenophobia and violence. We wish it went without saying, but we must insist on a warm welcoming environment to all. One love. No jerks.
