Montréal, June 29th, 2018. Syril Tiar and Philippe Gobeille are pleased to announce the return of TEN (“DIX”) – The Orgasm Play – as part of the 2018 Montréal Pride festivities. TEN will be presented for 8 performances at l’Espace Libre in both French and English.
The Story : In a bedroom, two people making out. After their lovemaking and a few lively disputes, Martin and Yves make way for other couples caught in the act of more or less successful orgasms. On the program, bizarre situations, misunderstandings but also the persistent question: What really happens once intercourse is over?
“You made a lot of noise, anyway, for someone who didn’t have an orgasm…”
“What happens after coitus?” – it’s the question that a famous playwright (by the name of Stephane) has pondered upon for some time. With ten post-coital scenes of couples, this old artist stages a line of comedians facing incongruous situations that will recall many of the scenes already experienced by the urban youth that TEN hopes to interest.
The two “real” authors of TEN (X in Roman numeral on the poster) are in Syril Tiar and Philippe Gobeille, established artists on the Montreal scene. Syril’s work has been screened in several film festivals and on CBC short docs while Philippe has branded the staging of many theatre pieces in recent years (included St-Jude Village and Leo for Pride in 2015 and 2016).
