From the three-time Frankie Award nominated company that produced “A David Lynch Wet Dream” and “SCRUM” (read our review of the latter here), Acherontia productions presents the surrealist movement essay “[…]morph“.
Conceived and Directed by founder of Acherontia Productions, Natasha Perry-Fagant, “[…]morph” will be running as a part of the 2018 Montreal Fringe Festival.
The piece examines the corollary strife and overlapping trials faced by marginalised groups. Touching on themes of gender dysphoria, body dysmorphia, religion and class the ensemble aims to paint the struggles of developing identities in a visceral experience that challenges their audience.
Having developed a style of storytelling using surrealist movement, for this production, the ensemble also utilises elements of body horror to convey the manifestations of their character’s states. And, of course, the experience would not be complete without the cacophonic sound and stunning projections Acherontia Productions are known for.
With an ensemble of many returning members from 2017’s Fringe production, “[…]morph” features the onstage talents of Chris Hicks, Nic Turcotte, Gabe Maharjan, Roxane Loumède, and Lex Lex (Lexxus Reid).
