Tantalus Montreal is currently is looking to cast four actors for its upcoming play James and Ziggy, written by Tyler Rourke and directed by Violette Kay. James and Ziggy will be presented at the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival (June 7-17, 2018). Rehearsals will take place throughout April and May 2018. Artists will be compensated by profit-share.
James and Ziggy is the story of a boy who dreams of being a Broadway star, and a director who desperately wants to please his superiors. It’s about a stage manager who wants a little more recognition, and a lighting guy, but he plays the harmonica and he’s about to get lucky. The play is also about a doctor of psychology who finds the whereabouts of her daughter in the unlikeliest of ways, and a waiter who just wants to do his restaurant right. It just so happens that the play is also about another doctor who isn’t really a doctor after all, and an orange man whose sole purpose is to pour gasoline on the ground. This play is about a lot of things and it would be a disgrace to forget to mention that it’s also a play about a catman who vomits orange peels onto people and a Muffin man who shoves muffins down people’s throats in their sleep. Last but not least, this play is about a security guard just trying to do his job and keep an eye out for punks, and also a Giant Blue Bear who has a television show.
