From Tuesday, February 6th to Sunday, February 25th, Infinithéâtre presents Conversion – written by Alyson Grant, directed by Guy Sprung, and performed by Diana Fajrajsl, Timothy Hine, Mike Payette and Denise Wat – at Montreal’s Epace Knox.
“I’m going to take from your little spiel that you do indeed feel affection for me. Or pity, which is close enough in opera.” –Mary
Infinithéâtre heats up their winter season with Alyson Grant’s newest work, Conversion. This is the night that secrets explode and the bonds of love and blood get twisted and tested. In line with Grant’s hit shows Trench Patterns and Progress!, her knack for combining weighty subjects with biting, topical humour is again front and centre.
In Conversion, four family members get together for what is supposed to be a straightforward celebratory supper, but familiar patter and patterns quickly devolve into a collision course of identities—race, class, gender and religion. This is the night that secrets explode and the bonds of love and blood get twisted and tested.
