Mythomania offers a live theatrical, musical and audiovisual experience while exploring the evolution of our Western representations on the myth of Love. It is by confronting on stage the universe of the marvelous with the self-representation on the Web that is manifesting today that Mythomania portrays the mutations of our loving behaviours and our related discourses. What, then, is love? A fantasy, a fable, a neurobiological activity, a scientifically unlikely phenomenon that happens once to the 10,000 lives? Could it be the way we have to tell each other the stages of our encounters, exaggerating their symbolic value? A series of narrative mechanisms to explore on stage, amplified by our virtual and anonymous behaviours in 2017.
ARTISTE INCONNU (MONTRÉAL) Artiste Inconnu focuses its researches on the phenomena of dislocation and dematerialization of human relationships and experiences today. By fostering contagious collaboration with other artistic disciplines and new media, by partnering with diverse emerging artists, the company is actively pursuing this breakdown of artistic barriers through hybridization and the integration of new technologies. Offering a vibrant multimedia writing, the creators who shape the company are involved in redefining the role of text in interdisciplinary creative processes. At its foundation, the company presented back to back Peep Show (2015) and Heroine (s)(2015) at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines.
Founded in 1990, La Chapelle is located in the heart of Montreal within a stone’s throw of the bustling St-Laurent Boulevard.
