Hudson Music Club celebrates 65 years with “Into the Woods” March 10-26

Montreal, February 14th, 2017 – Now celebrating its 65th year of entertainment, the Hudson Music Club is the oldest standing English language musical theatre group in Quebec, and will be presenting the Tony award-winning musical fairy tale for grownups titled INTO THE WOODS with music and lyrics by the legendary Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine from March 10th to March 26th, 2017 at the Hudson Village Theatre.

The musical is both enchanting and touching – it’s all about wishes, family, and the choices we select, making for a rare modern classic, in which everyone’s favorite storybook characters are brought together for a timeless, yet relevant, theatrical masterpiece.

Producer André Marchand says “for the past six months, the 15 member cast has been gearing up to celebrate 65 years of entertainment, and this show will truly entertain the audience with Sondheim’s intricate music and timing brought together by Musical Director, Pier-Luc Fournier, direction and choreographed musical staging by Philippe Gobeille and sweep them back in time when they see the stunning set designed by Jean Claude Olivier along with period costumes created by Gail Marchand.

As for the plot, this musical is sure to bring you back to your childhood with the fairytales you will remember from the story books of your youth!”

About the Hudson Music Club

Originally formed in 1952 as The Follies to raise money for Hudson’s Wyman Church, the META Award-winning Hudson Music Club, now in its 65th year, continues to raise money for worthwhile local organizations with crowd-pleasing Broadway musical theatre productions.

Not only has their repertoire included everything from Gilbert and Sullivan to Cabaret with a few Broadway revues for good measure, but they also participate in various community events to raise funds for local charities throughout the calendar year.
