Auditions: McGill Savoy Society presents “The Pirates of Penzance”

Audition dates: September 30th and October 1st, 2016

The Pirates of Penzance

The McGill Savoy Society is planning to put on its best show yet with this year’s production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance!

“For those who are interested in joining out wonderful cast this year, we are holding auditions on September 30th from 5:00-9:00pm and October 1st from 1:00pm-5:00pm (10 minutes per audition).

Here is the doodle online sign-up sheet so that you can sign up for your slot.

Actors are required to come with a prepared English song of choice. They should also be prepared to read an excerpt from the Google drive folder titled “Pirates of Penzance Audition Resources” according to the character they are auditioning for. They can have the excerpt prepared beforehand or can feel free to pick up a copy of the dialogue and do a cold read before they enter the audition room.

It is recommended but not required to bring a resume and a headshot to the audition, as there will be a form to fill out before the audition. Actors should arrive ten minutes early to have time to fill it out. The director would love to have the headshot and resume but only if it is easily accessible to the actors.

The Savoy Society welcomes performers of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religions, ages, abilities, and backgrounds, so please come out and audition!”
