This upcoming Saturday, September 10th, The Segal Centre for Performing Art’s brings back its highly popular Broadway Café series for the 2016-17 season!
Broadway Café is the ultimate destination for musical theatre fans in Montreal to come together and enjoy their favorite show tunes in an intimate, relaxed, and supportive environment. These open-mic evenings offer amateurs, performers-to-be, and professionals alike an opportunity to sing the Broadway repertoire accompanied by a professional pianist. Audiences are welcome to bring their music sheets and perform their hearts out or just sit back, buy a drink, and enjoy the show.
“Broadway Café is one of the greatest events you can experience as a musical theatre performer or enthusiast in Montreal”, says the Hub’s own founder and editor-in-chief Camila Fitzgibbon — who will also be hosting this season’s closing edition on May 27th, 2017. “It’s where I initially found ‘my people’ and it’s this incredibly welcoming, vibrant, loving place where the musical theatre community comes together to celebrate this shared passion (or, in my case, obsession). It’s truly a gem in the Montreal theatre scene.”
This year, the Segal Centre has introduced two special “Big Broadway Sing-Alongs” with Nick Burgess as part of its Broadway Café programming, the first of which takes place precisely this Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available online (advance purchase recommended).
