After sold-out performances at the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe and Wildside Theatre Festivals, the superhero musical saga continues. Following the events of Captain Aurora I: The Rise of the SkyGuard, a ragtag group of superheroes has banded together to defend the Earth against the A’aru, an extraterrestrial civilization that seeks to colonize the Earth. The SkyGuard has chosen the mourning Captain Aurora to lead them, but when she discovers that the A’aru have transformed her late fiance into a cybernetically enhanced super soldier, she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Rehearsals: May 09 – June 08 (daytime rehearsals, approx. 20H / week)
Performances: June 09 – 19 (6 performances)

Musical Directors: Ian Baird and Kenny Wong

AUDITIONS
When: Wednesday, March 2nd, 17H00-22H00
Where: The Freestanding Room, Suite 300, 4324 Boul St-Laurent, Montréal, QC H2W 1Z3
What: Actors will be asked to prepare 32-bars of a contemporary up-tempo musical theatre piece and a 2-minute comedic monologue.
Who: We accept submissions from union and non-union actors. We encourage submissions from artists of diverse backgrounds. Ability to read sheet music is an asset.

We will accept video submissions before Sunday, February 28th. Callbacks will be held shortly after auditions.

WE ARE CASTING FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES

  • Jack, Dawn’s best friend AKA The Green Zinger, current New SkyGuard member (Tenor, 20-30). Sarcastic. Jokester. Dependable. 
  • The Rough, a former small-time criminal, current New SkyGuard member (Alto, 20-30). Brazen. Tough. Plain spoken.
  • The Phantom, the founder of the Old SkyGuard (High tenor, 40-60). Patriotic. Rousing. Absent minded.
  • Gorganna, the A’aru cult leader (Soprano, 30s). Fanatic. Stately. Hostile. 
  • Doom (Tenor, 20-30s) and Gloom, A’aru acolytes (Bass, 20-30s). Devoted. Guileless. Dangerous.

Honorarium: Profit-share
