It is also the story of a group of scholars who unearth her findings over a century later. In addition to recovering Thomasina’s importance to intellectual history, the scholars find themselves increasingly connected to her and her wry tutor, Septimus, on a personal level. Looking for intellectual history, they also end up learning more about themselves and their connections to each other as they explore the history of the house where Thomasina once lived, laughed, and learned.
