How honest should we be with our friends?  And can we be friends with people with whom we violently disagree?

Serge has just bought a very expensive painting: it’s about five feet by four, all white with white diagonal lines.  His friend Marc thinks that the painting is a joke and, in a fit of unbridled honesty, he tells Serge he’s been had. Serge hotly counters that Marc has no idea what he’s talking about. In an effort to settle the argument, they each appeal to their mild-mannered, eager-to-please friend, Ivan, launching all three men into a fierce debate that tests the bonds of their longstanding friendship.

Presented by Hudson Village Theatre from August 8-19.
