Queen of Chesed

November 15 @ 8:00 pm
Outremont Theatre, 1248 Bernard Avenue Ouest
Outremont, QC H2V 1V6 Canada

'Queen of Chesed' is loosely based on the life of Faigie Jacobson-a Chasidic woman, wife of a rabbi and mother of 9 children. “Chesed” is a Hebrew word meaning “acts of loving kindness”. Faigie, a dynamic, religious woman, opened her home to the needy in her Crown Heights home. Homeless, hungry and lonely people come for a meal and often stay indefinitely. The play has fictitious and true to life occurrences. It makes for some interesting dramatic and comedic interactions not only between the Jacobson family and their “guests” but also between the “guests” themselves.

Presented by Labyrinth Stage Productions; directed by Ellen David.
