Presented as part of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival (June 7-17, 2018), “Linge Sale” is a new play written by Avery Burrow and directed by Emily Murdoch. It discusses themes of intergenerational queerness and loss, and features an entirely queer production team. We are looking for four actors to join us in the creation of this piece, all of whom will be compensated through profit share.
An estranged mother and daughter are forced to reunite after the death of the father to fulfill his final wish of having his ashes scattered in Percé, Quebec. When it comes to light that his love for the town is because it is home to his lover, a man named Antoine, the mother must come to terms with not only her daughter’s queerness, but also that of her husband. Between language barriers and political differences, the two women must work to mend their relationship when it is close to completely falling apart.
