Quebec Drama Federation to showcase upcoming theatre at the 2018 Winter Calendar Launch (January 15)

Free event featuring snippets of upcoming shows to be held at the Segal Centre

MONTREAL, January 5th, 2018. The Quebec Drama Federation 2018 Winter Calendar Launch is taking place Monday, January 15 at the Segal Centre for the Performing Arts. This free event is for all theatre goers who want to get a taste for the season to come in English Langauge theatre in Montreal. The evening features short performances of excerpts from upcoming shows and live interviews with industry professionals and community leaders. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the performances begin at 6:45. Come in from the cold, grab a snack and purchase a beverage, and settle in for a raucous evening that will provide a little taste of what’s in store this winter.

Hosted by two Montreal darlings Sarah Segal-Lazar and Cat Lemieux, the launch celebrates the art and artists of our special and varied community. Among the productions hitting the stage this season are Raise the Stakes’ production of beloved Greek tragedy Antigone. Fittingly, Snowglobe Theatre has an upcoming production, The Medium, an opera about communing with the spirit world, which they are producing as a double bill with Riders to the Sea. You can also see a presentation from Revolution They Wrote: Feminist Short Works ahead of the festival in March.

The launch also features live interviews with prominent members of the theatre community including Pascale Rafie, playwright of The Baklawa Recipe opening at Centaur Theatre January 23. Independent theatre titan Amy Blackmore, president of QDF’s Board of Directors and Artistic Director of MainLine Theatre, will also be present to discuss upcoming training opportunities and workshops. QDF will be showcasing these wonderful previews and talks, and more at its Winter 2017 Calendar Launch.
