Inspired by the real-life case of bullied teen Jamie Hubley, Late Company is a powerful new drama that delves into the shattering aftershocks of bullying, homophobia, mental health, and teen suicide. It’s a poignantly relevant contemporary story of forgiveness, accountability and reprisal.

Tamara: (40-50) Protective mother of her only son, Curtis. After being invited to dinner at the family of a school colleague of her son’s, Tamara projects an aura of being “everyone’s friend and ally” but right or wrong, her true raw emotion reveals itself when she perceives her husband and son as being overtly attacked.
Bill: (40-55) Opinionated father of 17 year old Curtis. Over confident on the outside, Bill covers up his insecurities by projecting a macho, insensitive character, all the while harboring his pain and difficulty moving forward.
Michael: (40-55) A politician. Father of Joel and married to Debora, tried his best to be a good father and family man, but expresses guilt and difficulty in looking at the full picture, the current reality and guilt at not having spent more time with his son.
Open to Union and Non-Union members. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

Audition sides will be available to you and you are expected to be off script for the audition. You may also be asked to do a cold scene read. It is recommended that applicants read the script or be very familiar with the story prior to auditioning. Performances will be November 8-11 and November 16-18 at MainLine Theatre.
Tech week: November 5-8.
Remuneration: honorarium based on profit share.
Rehearsals will begin in August 2017. Rehearsals will be held on weeknights after 5pm and/or weekends during the day. Specific days and times will be determined.
d² productions requires that auditioners come prepared to commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule.
