Infinithéâtre will be holding auditions for the world premiere of Alyson Grant’s new play Conversion (Write-On-Q! Finalist 2016) on July 5th, 2017.
Play synopsis: Four family members get together for what is supposed to be a straightforward celebratory supper, but familiar patter and patterns quickly devolve into a collision course of identities—race, class, gender and religion. This is the night that secrets explode and the bonds of love and blood get twisted and tested. Imagine something like Edward Albee’s play, Who’s Afraid of Virgina Wolf on steroids.
CAEA contract. 3 weeks rehearsals in September/October with 3 weeks run in October/November. Dates to be finalized.
ABI: White woman, 36, doctor, wife to AL
AL: Black man, 36, community worker, husband to ABI
JOE: White man, 70, Abi’s father
