The Quebec Drama Federation exists to support English-language theatre companies, artists and their artistic expressions in Quebec. This support manifests itself through leadership, collaborations with partners and stakeholders in the community, mobilization, promotion of the artists and companies, professional development and identification of the role of theatre in the community at large. It also provides resources and means through which success and recognition of English-language theatre companies and artists in Quebec, to the rest of Canada, and on an international scale, is achieved.

The Quebec Drama Federation invites applications for the following positions:


1) Membership Coordinator

Reporting to the Executive Director, and working in tandem with the QDF staff the Membership coordinator is responsible for:

  • Membership Care
    • Renewal
    • Database development / upkeep
    • upkeep of distribution lists
    • Membership Care
  • Volunteer Coordination
  • AGM preparation
  • Other administrative tasks

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a HLC with 6 months experience
  • Is outgoing, enjoys working with the public and as part of a team.
  • Has a basic knowledge of the English-language Theatre community
  • Has great written and spoken English, Good spoken French and written French is an asset
  • Is computer literate (office suite)
  • Enjoys administrative tasks

Details of employment:

Remuneration: $10.55 per hour

Work Schedule: 15 hrs. per week (usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday). Some nights and week-ends, with compensatory time given in lieu of overtime where possible.

Start Date: March 21, 2016.

2) Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Reporting to the Executive Director, and working in tandem with the QDF staff, the primary duties of the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be:

  • Development and implementation of Social Media including:
    • Blogs, Facebook, twitter, on-line forums, website
  • Assist with ad sales
  • Networking: attending community events to promote them and QDF
  • Audience Development
  • Assisting in soliciting sponsors
  • Press relations
  • Is outgoing, enjoys working with the public and as part of a team.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Certified training in marketing and promotion
  • At least 6 months of practical work experience
  • Experience working with Facebook, Twitter, WordPress etc.
  • Experience with resource solicitation
  • Experience with press relations and writing and distributing press releases
  • Excellent English and French communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent editing skills and computer skills (office suite)

Details of employment:

Remuneration: $14.00 per hour

Work Schedule: 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) some nights and weekends with compensatory time given in lieu of overtime where possible.

Start Date: March 21, 2016.

3) Marketing Assistant 

Reporting to the Executive Director, and work in conjunction with both the Events/Outreach Coordinator and Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the Marketing Assistant will:

  • Assist with the implementation of the social media social media strategy
  • Assist with the development of the blogs
  • Develop content for QDF social media sites

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A mix of appropriate training and experience in communications or journalism.
  • Excellent English and French communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent editing skills
  • Good Computer skills (office suite)

Details of employment:

Remuneration: $12.55 per hour (Must be eligible for Emploi-Québec Subventions Salariales program

Work Schedule: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday) some nights and weekends with compensatory time given in lieu of overtime where possible.

Start Date: April 21, 2016.

Contract length: 6 Months
